@@scotlandshistory Yeah, I think that I was lucky, when I visited. It wasn't too busy. I found it with Scara Brae, it was very busy, with three coaches showing up when I was there, even though I was early on a Sunday.

@AScottishOdyssey it's incredibly busy! Yet there are other sites that are just as interesting and barely a soul there. Maeshowe is like Scara Brae now too.

@@scotlandshistory I managed to visit Maes Howe, and it was stunning. I also manged to get to Knapp of Hower, on Papa Westery, and I had the whole site to myself.

@AScottishOdyssey the outer islands are so much less busy. It's great but I haven't manged to get there yet.

@@scotlandshistory my grandad used to take me around Edinburgh ,I never lost that sense of curiosity. The castle was one of our favourites,had to be there by one😊
